Dubai Metro Blue Line Route Map 2026: Stations & Routes

I checked the latest RTA updates so you get a clear guide to the Dubai Metro Blue Line route map. It is Dubai’s third metro line. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved the Dubai Metro Blue Line project on November 24, 2023.

The RTA plans to open the Blue Line on September 9, 2029. The route will cover 30 km and include 14 stations, with a budget of around AED 18 billion. You will find the route, station list, fares, and PDF map tips below.

Key Facts at a Glance

Blue Line Project Overview

Dubai’s east side has grown fast, and many homes still sit far from a metro stop. The line adds metro service to nine districts that have none today.

Dubai announced the project in November 2023 with an AED 18 billion budget. RTA awarded the contract in December 2024 for AED 20.5 billion, which is about USD 5.6 billion.

RTA says the network grows from 101 km and 64 stations to 131 km and 78 stations. That network total also counts the Dubai Tram stops and track.

The Blue Line is set to link areas across Dubai, including Festival City, Al Jaddaf, Mirdif, Silicon Oasis, and Academic City.

Blue Line Construction and Contractor

Blue Line Construction and Contractor

Work began in June 2025, after Sheikh Mohammed laid the foundation stone on 9 June. MAPA and Limak from Turkey lead the group, with CRRC from China as a partner. MAPA and Limak handle the civil works, while CRRC supplies the rail systems. RTA owns and leads the project and works with private-sector partners across the route.

By November 2025, work on the Blue Line had reached 10%. By May 2026, the project had reached 20% completion, according to the RTA. Reports from September 2026 put overall progress at about 25%, and RTA targets 30% by year end.

Crews started tunnel boring in May 2026 on a 15.5 km underground section. Crews are building piers for a 1.3 km bridge over Dubai Creek, the first metro crossing there. Project reports say the bridge structures will take shape by June 2027.

The project involves over 10,000 workers and 500 engineers. The project includes two concrete plants and two storage yards at Al Ruwayyah 3 and International City.

Completion Date and Opening Date

The RTA plans to launch the Blue Line on September 9, 2029, exactly 20 years after Dubai Metro’s first journey on September 9, 2009.

This table shows each major step from announcement to your first ride.

Official Route Map of Blue Line and PDF Download

RTA shows the official route map on its website, rta.ae, and in project news posts. Map files change as designs firm up, so grab the newest copy from rta.ae. Save the PDF to your phone, so you can zoom in without a signal.

Reading the map takes a minute:

  • The new route appears in blue on the map, while the existing Red and Green lines keep their own colors.
  • Look for the Y shape, where two arms meet at International City 1.
  • Find the three big interchange points first, since you switch lines there.
  • Count the stations between your starting point and destination to plan your journey.

Blue line’s Route and Branches

The Blue Line has a Y-shaped route, with a 21 km branch toward Creek and a 9 km branch toward Centrepoint.

The Creek branch will link Creek station with Festival City, Creek Harbour, Ras Al Khor, International City, Silicon Oasis, and Academic City.

The second branch starts at Centrepoint on the Red Line and serves Mirdif and Al Warqa before reaching International City 1. It spans around 9 km and has four stations.

Both branches meet at International City 1, an underground station built to link them. RTA has not shared train patterns yet, so check for through trains when the line opens.

Blue Line Stations List

The planned Blue Line includes 14 stations: nine elevated and five below ground. Public lists do not label each stop, so I only mark the ones that are confirmed.

That gives 12 named stops. RTA counts 14 stations in all, and the last names are not final in the sources I checked.

Interchange Connections

At Creek, you change between the Blue Line and the Green Line. Creek sits in Al Jaddaf and serves as the Green Line’s current end. Green Line trains from here serve Deira, Bur Dubai, and Al Qusais.

Centrepoint connects the Blue Line to the Red Line at its northern end. From there, the Red Line runs through Dubai’s centre toward Jebel Ali. Sponsors renamed the old Rashidiya station, so you may see both names on older maps.

International City 1 joins the two Blue Line branches and sits underground. Tunnel boring for the line started from this station in May 2026.

Areas Connected by the Line

Creek Harbour and Festival City

Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Festival City sit at the start of the Creek branch. Both areas link to the Green Line through Creek station and the rest of the network.

Ras Al Khor and International City

Ras Al Khor gets a stop that serves its work zones and the nearby wildlife sanctuary. International City gets three stations, and station one joins both branches.

Al Warqa and Mirdif

Mirdif gets a station near City Centre Mirdif, and Al Warqa gets its own stop. Both sit on the Centrepoint branch, which links straight to the Red Line.

Silicon Oasis and Academic City

Dubai Silicon Oasis and Dubai Academic City sit at the eastern end of the Creek branch. Students and tech workers there gain a direct rail link for the first time.

Travel Time, Timings and Fares

RTA expects a trip from Centrepoint to Academic City to take about 17 minutes. RTA has not published times for other station pairs, so I leave them out.

RTA has not announced Blue Line hours, so check rta.ae as 2029 gets closer. Today the Red and Green Lines run from 5 am to midnight, Monday to Thursday. Friday runs until 1 am, and Sunday starts at 8 am.

Metro, tram, and bus fares all use Nol cards and zones, so expect the same system. RTA has not published zones for new stations, so I cannot list a fare per station. Use the Silver card table as your cost guide until RTA shares Blue Line pricing.

A Silver card costs AED 25 and comes with AED 19 of credit. Daily spending on a Silver card stops at AED 14. The Blue nol card is a discount card for eligible riders, not a Blue Line pass.

Blue Line vs Gold Line

The Gold Line is a separate project, and it is not part of the Blue Line. RTA announced the Gold Line separately, with 42 km of track and 18 stations. Reports target 9 September 2032 for its opening, three years after the Blue Line. The Gold Line would add about 25 percent to the metro network.

Check rta.ae for Gold Line news, since plans there are still early.
